Another day at the gym with a cheesecake in the oven back at home.

You might’ve already seen over on my facebook page, that I recently made a caramel cheesecake in the name of fitness.
Sure it has a million calories in it, but will that stop me from enjoy a slice of it?
Hell no.
In fact, I’m gonna force my friends and family to eat it with me.

How much does the human body change after 4 weeks off from training?

[PICTURE ABOVE] I always read Men’s Health when on the road. It’s amusingly bad most of the time and gives me something to write about.

Those that have been paying attention, may have noticed I’ve been in the USA for the last 4 weeks. It’s a difficult realization to endure when you think to yourself just before you depart.
“I’m in peak physical condition – how will I look in 4 weeks of basically nothing?”
The answer is – You won’t look ‘that much different’, but there will definitely be noticeable changes to both how you look and feel.

Did I lose much muscle?

Yes and no.
A week or so ago I posted about the mini-routine I had going whilst on the road.
I’d do a workout in between nights out on the booze, huge buffet breakfasts and hours of driving on long freeways with nothing but Dr Pepper and a bag of pretzels by my side.
These workouts stimulated ‘some’ of the muscle groups, but not as effectively as a proper gym-routine can (more on that below). (more…)

I write this as I sit on the balcony of my resort hotel in Playa Del Carmen Mexico listening to the ocean. Of course, I’ll be back from vacation next week with a new found vigor and gusto to my training… but until then, Jack Daniels is my new best friend.

When it comes to vacation time, It’d be easy to completely forget all that you’ve achieved in regards to your health, fitness and body fat levels the moment you board a plane. (more…)

What is Jack3d

Jack3d is a “nitric oxide” pre-workout supplement. It boasts an ingredient profile designed to give the most focused, intense, and pumped workouts, and apparently has no unnecessary “filler” ingredients. It comes in Grape bubblegum, Lemon Lime, Raspberry Lemonade and Tropical Fruit.

What I loved

I train 4 days a week at 6am, so I found that 1.5 scoops around 20mins beforehand, really gave me focus and the energy I needed to get through an intense 45-60min session.
It really does make a difference to your gym performance, and allows you to complete more in less time.
Jack3d isn’t without its shortcomings however — that brings me to… (more…)

Q & A: What dieting method works best when coupled with Visual Impact?

This week I received an email from Idris.
He writes…

Q:“Hi Clint, firstly congrats with the results on the program. I have just bought the Visual Impact program and also Eat Stop Eat.
My question is during phase 1 did you follow Eat Stop Eat or Lean Gains? Or were you just eating at maintenance? As I am under the impression that during this phase it is more about volume therefore you would need too consume more food/protein to add in repairing the muscles.
Also, did you follow the program to a t? or did you increase HIIT or an extra day or weights?
Anyway, congrats again and I hope you can help me with the above questions.”
