Training whilst intermittently fasting – It’s easier than you might think

[HILARITY WARNING: Cass snapped me training fasted during a set of rope curls which finished off my back/biceps session. Yes, I make a face.]

For those of you challenging yourself over the next 2 months with the Intermittent Fasting Challenge that I posted earlier, I hope your progress is tracking well.
It’s only 2 weeks in, so don’t lose sight of the big picture – results will come in due time!

So how does one train whilst intermittently fasting? Won’t you fall-over during your first set of squats due to lack of anything resembling a calorie?
Just to prove it can be done, the video at top is me training at 6am this morning. I didn’t eat before this session, nor did I eat after it.

Clint’s current workout: Visual Impact Completed!

As you may have read previously, I’m currently the test dummy for Rusty Moore’s Visual Impact program.

I don’t adhere to fads nor gimmicks (how’d you guess that?) so i was skeptical at first, but then I got to know Rusty and his style of teaching over at fitnessblackbook.com.
As I leafed through the program, I came to realise that the guy just might know what he’s talking about.

Training for muscle growth whilst losing body fat at the same time

This is a highly controversial topic which seems to pop-up on the radar more often than man-boobs show up at the beach.

Is it possible for muscle growth whilst losing body fat at the same time?

Some would argue it isn’t, but au contraire mon frere, it IS possible.
It just requires very precise training, rest and nutrient timing.
Not only is it possible (based on my own experience), but written authors such as Tom Venuto have been preaching this very concept for a while now with books such as Burn The Fat. Read the rest of this entry »

The burning question is “What’s a healthy body fat percent for freaky abdominal definition?”

Are you looking for a six-pack, or are you just aiming to be in a healthy body fat range for a fit adult?

I’ll assume you’re after a body fat level that offers a least SOME muscle definition without having to look like a figure competitor.
